Find out what's happening at WYO; Newsletters and announcements.

Thanks for all your effort and help on Saturday the 3rd! I think it was a really neat experience, and Don Irwin expressed to me several times that he was very pleased with the way the orchestra sounded.

News about upcoming events:
We are ALL playing Christmas carols at Kowalskis in Woodbury. The parts are easy and to have everyone play helps fill out the harmony and makes it easier for the audience to hear us.

Rehearsal, Monday Dec 12, 6:30-8:30 Strings, 7:30-9:30 Winds. The winds will play on the carols, but not on all of them.

Performance: Saturday, December 17, 10:00AM- 12:00PM Details. Kowalskis is at the southeast corner of Valley Creek Road and Radio Drive, perhaps a mile east of WJH, where we rehearse. Please plan on arriving at 9:30 AM. Bring a stand!
Just for good measure: BRING A STAND. As you enter the store, go to the left and upstairs. There is a platform of sorts above the coffee shop/ café and we have this section reserved for the orchestra. We will set up chairs and stand and instruments, tune, and begin playing by 10:00 AM.
Dress: You can wear concert dress if you wish, or dress black pants (or long skirts for the ladies if you choose) with a solid color red or green top (dress shirt, sweater, etc). It would be nice to appear a little festive, but remember this is still a performance, so no T-shirts, shirts with large logos, etc.
We will be done at 12:00, and students can leave as soon as we have all the chairs and tables put back how we found them.

There is no rehearsal on Monday December 19, or December 26. Rehearsals will resume after the break, on TUESDAY, January 3 regular times for strings (6:30) and winds (7:30). January 3 we will resume meeting as Symphony and Philharmonic separately.

Notes, News and Dates:

We will begin music for our next formal concert. The next concert is March 5, and is tentatively scheduled to be at Central Presbyterian Church at 3:00. This is a classy, historic, and warm-sounding space a few blocks from the capital. I believe it is the oldest church in Saint Paul. And there is an attached parking rampfree on weekends. Are we lucky or what?

Play out #3 This is looking way ahead, but thought you would like the date. We have been asked to perform during the worship service of Central Presbyterian Church in Saint Paul. This is in exchange for them allowing us to perform our March Concert in their space at a discounted rate. It is also good performing opportunity, and a new audience for us. This is a very nice sounding, and classy- looking venue. The date for this play out will be during the morning of Sunday, April 23. Again, this is tentative, but as it was not in the original handbook, please mark the date. I am unclear right now if this will be members of Symphony only, or both groups as for the December play outs.
